Forest Area Control Task Force Respects Legal Process Against Former Jampidsus

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) respects the ongoing legal process against former Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah.

Febrie previously also held the position of Executive Chairman of Satgas PKH.

“Regarding this matter, I would say that there are organisational principles. In due course, the Attorney General’s Office will provide an explanation,” said Satgas PKH spokesperson Ambarita Simanjuntak at a press conference following a meeting in Jakarta on Monday.

He affirmed that Satgas PKH continues to operate based on organisational principles, both in its steering body and implementing body.

He added that reports on the implementation and direction of Satgas PKH’s duties will be submitted to President Prabowo Subianto.

In the meeting held this morning, Ambarita said Satgas PKH did not discuss the position of Executive Chairman, but rather addressed matters relating to the optimisation, synchronisation, and evaluation of task implementation, as well as the span of control and supervision of the task force.

“So do not look at it from the aspect of the vacant Executive Chairman position. Just wait for the explanation from the Attorney General’s Office,” he said.

The Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas) at the Attorney General’s Office, Rudi Margono, emphasised that his office will handle the alleged corruption case involving the former Jampidsus, initials FA, professionally and with legal certainty.

Rudi, who has also just been appointed as Acting Jampidsus, said that synergy in handling the case with the National Police’s Anti-Corruption Task Force (Kortastipidkor) upholds the presumption of innocence.

“The synergy is to ensure that this case is handled in a truly professional manner, upholding the presumption of innocence, so that there is certainty in its resolution,” said Rudi at a press conference in Jakarta on Saturday (11/7).

At present, he said, the evidence and exhibits gathered by Kortastipidkor investigators are still at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

“The transfer (of evidence) will await coordination,” he said.

Kortastipidkor transferred the handling of three cases involving FA to the Jampidsus of the Attorney General’s Office as a form of synergy. The three cases in question relate to alleged corruption and money laundering in coal procurement for coal-fired power plants, as well as at PT Asabri and PT Krakatau Steel.
