Forest and Peatland Fires in West Kalimantan

Aerial photography shows smoke rising high from forest and peatland fires in Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan, on Friday (31/07/2026). The West Kalimantan Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), in collaboration with relevant agencies, is conducting aerial patrols using a Bell 206L4 helicopter owned by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), registered as PK-FBI. The mission aims to monitor hotspots in Kubu Raya, North Kayong, and Ketapang regencies, where several locations of forest and land fires are still being observed.
