Forest and land fire suppression operations in Palangka Raya intensified
The Palangka Raya Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has recorded new hotspots from forest and land fires in Palangka Raya on Saturday (22/8). In addition to locations continuing from the previous day, field teams found several new hotspots spread across various areas of the city. Suppression operations in the capital of Central Kalimantan Province are being intensified during the 2026 dry season following hundreds of hotspots and the spread of burned land in several sub-districts. Through the Ministry of State Secretariat of the Republic of Indonesia, the central government has also deployed air and ground assistance to accelerate the response.
