The Indonesian National Police’s Forensic Laboratory Centre (Puslabfor) has been deployed to investigate the death of a man named Sutrimo.

Head of Public Relations at Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, said Puslabfor has been involved in processing the crime scene. A number of samples have been taken for further laboratory examination.

“We also understand the concerns and questions arising among the public. To ascertain the cause of the death of the late S, the police conducted crime scene processing involving Puslabfor and a series of other investigative measures,” Budi said in a statement on Wednesday (29 July).

According to Budi, the Criminal Investigation Directorate of Jakarta Metropolitan Police and South Jakarta Metro Police are continuing to investigate Sutrimo’s death, which is suspected to be unnatural.

Budi said investigators have questioned several witnesses and gathered information and clues related to the incident.

“All the facts are still being examined to objectively determine the cause of the victim’s death,” he said.

Previously, a man named Sutrimo died on Thursday (23 July). Sutrimo was found unconscious in the grounds of the Mordent Clinic in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, and was subsequently taken by ambulance to Muhammadiyah Taman Puring Hospital.

“The hospital explained that Sutrimo arrived already deceased,” Budi said in a written statement on Sunday (26 July).

Police have gathered statements and sought clarification from the family, the ambulance driver, hospital staff and other parties with knowledge of the incident.

“Medical records, the ambulance booking history, the location where the deceased was first found, and other related information are also being examined,” he said.

The victim is said to be the head of household of former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes at the Attorney General’s Office, Febrie Adriansyah. Regarding this, Budi said police are still investigating the victim’s identity.
