Forensic Laboratory Conducts Crime Scene Investigation at Kemayoran Fire Site in Central Jakarta

On Wednesday (3/6/2026), the Forensic Laboratory (Puslabfor) conducted an investigation at the site of the Kemayoran fire in Central Jakarta. At approximately 12:00 WIB, Puslabfor investigators began interviewing two witnesses located near the scene. Following the interviews, investigators proceeded to process the crime scene within the cordoned-off area.

During the investigation, Puslabfor personnel collected several pieces of evidence related to the fire and documented all recovered items. The fire incident resulted in the destruction of 250 houses, impacting an estimated 350 families.

Firefighters initially received reports of the blaze on Monday (1/6) at approximately 20:55 WIB, with firefighting operations commencing at 21:05 WIB and concluding at 04:15 WIB. Three individuals sustained injuries during the incident and were immediately transported to the hospital. The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.
