Foreign Net Sell Widens, but IHSG Continues to Accelerate
Foreign investors are increasingly aggressive in offloading shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), even as the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) begins to show resistance and managed to strengthen after being under pressure in recent days. Based on trading data, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp2.45 trillion on 9 June 2026, which then increased to Rp3.13 trillion on 10 June 2026. Consequently, net foreign selling over the last two days reached approximately Rp5.57 trillion. Interestingly, the increase in selling occurred as the IHSG attempted to recover from heavy pressure. During trading on 10 June, the index strengthened after previously touching its lowest level in several months, indicating bargain hunting and buying from domestic market players. Large-cap banking stocks remained the primary source of foreign pressure. On 10 June, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) was the stock with the largest net sell, reaching Rp612 billion, followed by PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk. (TPIA) at Rp416 billion, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA) at Rp179 billion, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) at Rp147 billion, and PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) at Rp122 billion. A similar pattern was observed the previous day, with BBCA, BBRI, BMRI, and TPIA dominating the list of shares most sold by foreign investors. This indicates that although the IHSG has begun to recover, global investors are still reducing exposure to a number of blue-chip stocks that have been the main drivers of the index. Meanwhile, the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) surged again in yesterday’s trading, continuing the previous day’s gains. Based on trading data, the IHSG soared 2.71% or 155 points to a position of 5,902.37. A total of 571 stocks rose, 148 fell, and 96 were unchanged. The index increase was also accompanied by busy transaction activity. Trading volume was recorded at approximately 46.67 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp31.73 trillion and a trading frequency of 3.1 million times.
