JAKARTA — The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) finally halted its nine-day consecutive rally, closing slightly lower in trading on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

Selling pressure from foreign investors, which reached almost Rp 1 trillion, was one of the main points of attention amid the market correction.

Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) via RTI Business, the IHSG fell 0.09% to 6,334.47. Throughout the trading session, the index moved between 6,284 and touched a high of 6,394.

On the other hand, seven sectors still managed to record gains.

The technology sector led the advance with a rise of 1.58%, followed by primary consumer goods at 0.78%, property and real estate at 0.68%, industrials at 0.63%, non-primary consumer goods at 0.47%, energy at 0.22%, and the financial sector, which strengthened 0.18%.

Trading activity was fairly busy, with total volume reaching 46.06 billion shares and transaction value of Rp 18.36 trillion.

Market pressure was also reflected in foreign investors’ selling activity. Throughout Wednesday’s trading, foreign investors booked a net sell of Rp 920.34 billion across the whole market, coinciding with the end of the IHSG’s long rally.
