Foreign Net Buy Reaches Rp326 Billion as IHSG Surges, These Shares Snapped Up
The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) surged during trading on Wednesday (12/8/2026), after a sharp correction in the previous day’s trading.
Based on data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), at 12.00 WIB the IHSG stood at 6,330.56, appreciating 1.00% from the previous close. By the lunch break, transaction value reached Rp7.92 trillion with a trading volume of 19.43 billion shares across 1.18 million transactions. A total of 449 shares advanced, 171 declined, and 170 were unchanged. The most actively traded issuers this morning included CUAN, BBCA, BUMI, PTRO, and BMRI.
Market participants today are awaiting two important agendas, namely the release of United States inflation data for July scheduled for tonight, as well as the MSCI August 2026 Index Review announcement which could potentially affect the weighting of Indonesian shares and future foreign fund flows.
In line with the index strengthening, based on data from Stockbit Sekuritas, foreign investors were recorded as posting a net foreign buy of Rp326.91 billion across all markets during session I today.
Overall, foreign transaction value in session I reached Rp4.99 trillion, with details of foreign buy amounting to Rp2.66 trillion and foreign sell of Rp2.33 trillion.
The largest foreign hunt was directed at the giant banking stock, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BBCA), with a net buy value reaching Rp236.76 billion - far surpassing other shares. In the next position was PT Petrosea Tbk. (PTRO) at Rp88.02 billion, followed by PT Barito Pacific Tbk. (BRPT) at Rp82.22 billion.
In addition, foreign investors also snapped up PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk. (BREN) at Rp79.12 billion, PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk. (CUAN) at Rp60.20 billion, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk. (DSSA) at Rp35.93 billion.
On the other hand, the largest foreign selling occurred in PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI) with a value reaching Rp118.37 billion. This was followed by PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM) at Rp65.98 billion, and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI) at Rp27.99 billion.
Selling pressure was also seen in PT United Tractors Tbk. (UNTR) at Rp19.44 billion, PT Indosat Tbk. (ISAT) at Rp16.71 billion, and PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk. (MDKA) at Rp15.77 billion.
