Foreign Ministry has yet to receive protest notes from neighbouring countries regarding forest fires
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that Indonesia has not yet received any protest notes or letters of objection from neighbouring countries regarding the haze resulting from forest and land fires (karhutla) occurring in Sumatra and Kalimantan.
During a press conference in Jakarta on Thursday (17/9), the Spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vahd Nabyl Mulachela, stated that Indonesia is continuing to provide daily reports to the ASEAN Secretariat. The Secretariat has established a level three regional alert status regarding the haze caused by the fires in Sumatra and Kalimantan.
