Meanwhile, spokesperson for the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu), Yvonne Mewengkang, stated that the BRICS FMM will address global and regional issues, particularly related to strengthening resilience, resilience, and innovation.
According to Yvonne, Indonesia will emphasise its strong commitment to continue participating actively in BRICS.
“Indonesia will continue to encourage BRICS to play a more active and constructive role in promoting peace and upholding global norms in accordance with international law,” she said.
India will host the BRICS FMM on 14-15 May 2026, and the meeting will be chaired by Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar.
The official website of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs mentions that, in addition to participating in the meeting, BRICS foreign ministers and member delegations will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the meeting, BRICS member foreign ministers will exchange views on global and regional issues of common interest.
On the second day, BRICS member and partner countries will participate in a session themed ‘BRICS@20: Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation, and Sustainability’, followed by a session on ‘Reform of Global Governance and the Multilateral System’.
