Foreign Minister Sugiono has revealed that three soldiers were injured as a result of an Israeli attack in Lebanon on Sunday, 29 March 2026. One of the three soldiers, who are serving as a contingent with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), is in a coma. “There are three comrades who are injured. One with serious injuries, currently still in a coma. Then, two (soldiers) with minor injuries,” Sugiono told reporters on Monday, 29 March 2026. Meanwhile, regarding the death of TNI soldier Praka Farizal Rhomadhon in the attack, Sugiono also expressed condolences. Sugiono emphasised that the Indonesian government strongly condemns the attack. “We also strongly condemn this incident and strongly condemn the attacks carried out by Israel in southern Lebanon,” he stated. He also urged UNIFIL to immediately conduct a thorough investigation into the death of TNI soldier Praka Farizal Rhomadhon following the attack in Lebanon. The investigation, according to Sugiono, is necessary to identify the source of the attack. “Then, requesting a full investigation from UNIFIL to find the source of this incident and once again urging all parties to de-escalate,” Sugiono stressed. Previously reported, the Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) confirmed that one TNI personnel attached to the UNIFIL peacekeeping force in Lebanon was killed and three others injured due to an Israeli artillery attack on Sunday, 29 March 2026. “There are casualties from TNI soldiers, namely one person deceased, one in serious condition, and two with minor injuries who are currently receiving medical treatment,” said the Head of the Defence Information Bureau (Karo Infohan) of the Secretariat General of Kemhan, Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, when confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday. Rico explained that the incident occurred due to an escalation in the conflict in the Lebanon region. Based on information gathered by ANTARA, the conflict escalation intensified until the artillery attack targeted the location of the Indonesian contingent in the city of Adshit al-Qusyar in southern Lebanon. “It should be noted that the incident occurred amid mutual artillery exchanges, and the clarification process is still being carried out by UNIFIL,” Rico clarified.
