JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Foreign Minister (Menlu) Sugiono has disclosed the condition of three TNI soldiers who were injured in the Israeli attack in Lebanon on Sunday night (29/3/2026). He revealed that one of the three soldiers, who are part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), is in a coma. “There are three colleagues (TNI) who are injured; one with severe injuries who is currently in a coma. The other two have minor injuries,” said Foreign Minister Sugiono in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday (30/3/2026). Sugiono stated that the attack also killed a TNI soldier named Praka Farizal Rhomadhon. “I extend my deepest condolences over the passing of one of our soldiers named Praka Farizal, who was serving as a UNIFIL contingent in Lebanon. He has fallen,” he said. Sugiono assured that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has tasked the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Beirut, Lebanon, with preparing various measures for the soldier’s funeral rites and monitoring the conditions of the Indonesian soldiers. “And also, it is planned that on Monday morning New York time, the Head of the Indonesian Representation at the UN in New York will meet with the UN Under Secretary General in charge of Peacekeeping Force issues to discuss matters related to the return or funeral rites of our soldier’s body,” said Sugiono. He urged all involved parties to carry out de-escalation and a ceasefire. Sugiono believes that various problems can essentially be resolved through negotiations. Meanwhile, the escalation that has heated up over the past month has had a real impact on the surrounding community. For information, the artillery attack indirectly hit the position of the Indonesian contingent near Adchit Al Qusayr on Sunday (29/3/2026). The incident occurred amid reports of exchanges of fire between the Israeli military and armed groups in southern Lebanon.
