President Prabowo Subianto has reportedly formed a special task force to clear up various investment obstacles and business issues that remain entangled in bureaucracy. The message was delivered by Foreign Minister Sugiono before ambassadors and international business actors at the Kadin Diplomatic Economic Breakfast Meeting at Hotel Aryaduta, Central Jakarta, on Friday, 12 June 2026. According to Sugiono, President Prabowo’s administration not only relies on political diplomacy but also makes economic diplomacy a primary instrument to accelerate investment and strengthen national economic growth. “I have conveyed to every ambassador I meet during their visits to my office that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will function to facilitate your interests, which are also our shared interests for the benefit of Indonesia and your respective countries,” Sugiono stated. In an effort to speed up investment realisation, the government has also formed a special task force tasked with unravelling various constraints that hamper business and investment activities. “In fact, the President has now established a task force whose function is to overcome any obstacles, any problems you face, especially in the economic sector,” Sugiono said. He assured that the government is opening direct communication channels for investors facing obstacles in business or investment processes in Indonesia. “So if there are any investment problems, any business problems stuck somewhere in the Indonesian bureaucracy, please let us know,” he remarked. Sugiono affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to serve as one of the entry points for investors to convey the issues they face, while also offering solutions so that the investment process can proceed more quickly and effectively. “And as I mentioned, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of the government agencies and ministries you can approach and where you can present your problems. And of course, complete with solutions,” he stressed. According to Sugiono, this step aligns with the new direction of Indonesian diplomacy, which places the economy as an inseparable part of foreign policy. “Because from the beginning, as I have said, economy and diplomacy are two sides of the same coin,” he said.
