Foreign Minister: PM Modi to Visit Prambanan Temple and Sign MoUs

Foreign Minister Sugiono has stated that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Prambanan Temple and sign a number of memoranda of understanding during his state visit to Indonesia. Sugiono said the agenda for Modi’s visit begins with a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace, followed by a tête-à-tête, a bilateral meeting, and a state banquet at the State Palace. “Then, as usual, there will be a tête-à-tête meeting followed by a bilateral meeting. The official event will then conclude with a state banquet at the State Palace,” Sugiono said after welcoming Modi’s arrival in Jakarta on Monday. “He plans to visit Prambanan Temple, as one of the agreements reached between Indonesia and India involves efforts to renovate or restore Prambanan Temple,” Sugiono stated. Furthermore, Indonesia and India will sign a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding in various fields, including health and technology development. During his visit, Modi is scheduled to stay in Indonesia for two nights, with engagements in Jakarta and Yogyakarta. Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Sandeep Chakravorty said Modi’s visit is focused on strengthening several pillars of strategic cooperation between the two countries. According to him, discussions will cover cooperation in defence and security, trade and investment, food security, energy security, downstreaming, critical mineral development, and capacity building in the health and education sectors.
