Amman (ANTARA) - Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono explained that the Jordanian government and military are ready to support Indonesia when it sends troops to Gaza, Palestine, to serve with the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) formed by the Gaza Peace Council.

This support was conveyed by the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, to President Prabowo Subianto during a bilateral meeting between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday.

“The main point is that Jordan is ready to provide support to Indonesia when we send troops. In addition, several technical matters from a military point of view will also be mutually assisted,” said Sugiono, answering questions from ANTARA when met at the Jordanian Air Force Base Marka, Amman, Wednesday, explaining one of the points of the bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace.

Meanwhile, the King of Jordan was accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashimi, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and several other state officials as well as high-ranking military officials.

In the meeting, Foreign Minister Sugiono explained that President Prabowo had expressed his concern about the Zionist Israeli actions against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

“We are very concerned about the incidents that occurred in the West Bank. We feel that these incidents could hinder the success of any efforts that we are jointly trying to do in Gaza,” said President Prabowo to the King of Jordan.

Therefore, Prabowo stated that the Government of the Republic of Indonesia is ready to work with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to find a way to deal with these problems.

“We want to strengthen and improve this cooperation, and I think my team will work closely with Your Majesty’s team, so that we always anticipate any situation. We both know what will happen,” said President Prabowo to King Abdullah II.
