The meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II of Jordan covered several topics, including the current situation in the Gaza conflict. Foreign Minister Sugiono confirmed Jordan’s readiness to support the deployment of Indonesian troops to Gaza.

Sugiono made the statement after accompanying Prabowo and King Abdullah II at the Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday afternoon (25/2) local time.

“In essence, Jordan is also prepared to provide support to Indonesia when we send troops,” said Sugiono.

In addition to this support, the bilateral meeting between Indonesia and Jordan also discussed technical military matters, with an agreement to provide mutual assistance as needed. The meeting also followed up on several areas of cooperation that had been discussed during King Abdullah’s visit to Jakarta some time ago.

“Furthermore, several technical matters related to the military will also involve mutual assistance. In addition, there were also discussions regarding several areas of cooperation that have been discussed during King Abdullah’s recent visit to Jakarta,” he said.

“There has been some progress, and there will be follow-up on several matters that still need to be addressed,” he added.

Previously, Prabowo and King Abdullah II held a meeting at the Basman Palace in Amman. The meeting took place in a friendly and warm atmosphere. After the meeting, Prabowo immediately departed for Marka Military Airport. However, what made this moment so memorable was King Abdullah II’s personal gesture, as he drove President Prabowo to the airport himself.
