The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) reversed course to weaken by nearly 3% during the first trading session on Friday (26/6/2026), after opening higher. The decline occurred amid a sell-off that dominated the majority of stocks on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI).

At the end of the first session, the JCI fell 2.73% or corrected by 164 points to a level of 5,835.11. Throughout the day’s trading, the index touched a high of 6,045 before reversing to hit a low of 5,830.

Selling pressure was quite heavy, with 593 stocks weakening, while only 91 stocks strengthened and 123 stocks moved sideways. Transaction value was recorded at approximately Rp6.39 trillion, with a trading volume of 11.70 billion shares across 933,000 transactions.

During the midday trading, foreign investors recorded a net sell of Rp442.88 billion across all markets. The breakdown was Rp2.16 trillion in foreign buy and Rp2.61 trillion in foreign sell.
