Foreign Investors Quietly Snap Up Conglomerate Shares
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Amid a net foreign sell of Rp1.58 trillion across the entire regular market during 10–14 August 2026, a number of shares became targets for foreign investors with jumbo net buys. Total foreign buying for the week was recorded at Rp21.58 trillion out of total market transactions of Rp44.75 trillion.
Shares of the Sinar Mas conglomerate, Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA), were the most heavily bought by foreign investors with a net buy reaching Rp1.16 trillion, far ahead of other shares on the top net buy list. Two banking giants, Bank Central Asia (BBCA) and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI), followed in second and third place with net buys of Rp380.8 billion and Rp306.6 billion respectively.
The following is a list of the 10 shares with the largest foreign net buys for the week:
PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) - Rp1.16 trillion
PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) - Rp380.8 billion
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) - Rp306.6 billion
PT Timah (Persero) Tbk (TINS) - Rp222.7 billion
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) - Rp72.1 billion
PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (ANTM) - Rp62.8 billion
PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) - Rp62.5 billion
PT J Resources Asia Pasifik Tbk (PSAB) - Rp51.7 billion
PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) - Rp45.7 billion
PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (INCO) - Rp37.8 billion
Although a number of big-cap banking and energy shares were sought after by foreign investors, the accumulation of net buys in these shares was not enough to offset the heavy selling flow in other shares, so the market as a whole still recorded a foreign net sell of Rp1.58 trillion for the week.
The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed last week down 0.12%, or 7.7 points lower, at 6,401.89. Transaction value was also recorded down 1.07% compared with the previous week to Rp15.21 trillion, followed by traded share volume down 14.86% to 34.01 billion.
