The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed in the red at the end of trading on Wednesday, 20 April 2026. The index fell 0.82 percent, or 52 points, to 6,319.

Domestic market pressure remained shadowed by foreign net selling. Foreign investors recorded net selling of Rp 131 billion.

The largest foreign selling occurred in PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) at Rp 376 billion. It was followed by PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) at Rp 221 billion, PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) Rp 141 billion, PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) Rp 123 billion, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) Rp 114 billion.

Next, PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) registered a net buy of Rp 218 billion, followed by PT Adaro Energy Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) Rp 111 billion, PT Timah Tbk (TINS) Rp 83 billion, and PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk (MBMA) Rp 77 billion.

Overall, the IHSG traded with volatility on Wednesday. The index touched a high of 6,459.556 before being pressured to a low of 6,215.562. At the opening, the IHSG stood at 6,352.202.

Although the IHSG closed in the red, activity was fairly brisk. Trading volume reached 41.128 billion shares with a turnover frequency of 2.47 million trades. Total turnover amounted to Rp 22.358 trillion.
