Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — While foreign investors were busy offloading large banking shares, funds instead flowed into several energy and conglomerate stocks during Wednesday’s trading (16/4/2026).

Behind the net selling pressure of Rp982.3 billion, foreigners were recorded accumulating in certain specific shares, reflecting a rotation strategy that is increasingly evident in the market.

Foreign buying activity was concentrated on energy and commodity shares such as CUAN, MEDC, and BRMS, indicating that this sector remains a target amid market volatility.

On the other hand, the entry into defensive shares like TLKM and INDF shows that global investors are still maintaining exposure to shares with strong fundamentals.

Here are the 10 shares with the largest net foreign buys:

  • PT Petrindo Jaya Kreasi Tbk. (CUAN) - Rp61.1 billion

  • PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk. (MEDC) - Rp50.8 billion

  • PT Merdeka Gold Resources Tbk. (EMAS) - Rp50.3 billion

  • PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (TLKM) - Rp45.8 billion

  • PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk. (INDF) - Rp40.7 billion

  • PT Barito Pacific Tbk. (BRPT) - Rp35.9 billion

  • PT United Tractors Tbk. (UNTR) - Rp35.8 billion

  • PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk. (BRMS) - Rp23.8 billion

  • PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk. (CPIN) - Rp23.2 billion

  • PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) - Rp21.5 billion

Meanwhile, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) closed slightly weaker on Thursday’s trading (16/4/2026), after fluctuating throughout the day.

The IHSG closed at 7,621.38, down 2.21 points or 0.03%. Since the opening, the IHSG actually moved in the green zone and touched a high of around 7,705, but selling pressure increased towards noon, causing the index to plunge to the 7,575 area.
