Foreign Investors Flock to Consumer and Retail Stocks as IHSG Continues to Strengthen
The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) successfully closed in positive territory despite opening lower. At the close of trading on Thursday (9 April 2026), the index strengthened by 0.39% to the level of 7,307.59.
The transaction value exceeded Rp17.01 trillion, involving 29.05 billion shares in 2.24 million transactions. A total of 374 shares declined, 278 rose, and 164 remained unchanged.
Meanwhile, foreign investors were recorded as still conducting selling activities with a value of Rp1.74 trillion across the entire market and Rp1.77 trillion in the regular market. In addition, foreign investor buying actions reached Rp27.81 billion in the negotiation and cash markets.
