Foreign Investors Change Minds, Closing Trading with Rp1.27 Trillion Net Sell
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Foreign investors reversed direction, leaving the domestic stock market at the close of trading on Thursday (4/6/2026). After recording a net buy during the first session, foreign investors ended the day with a net sell of Rp1.27 trillion across the entire market.
Trading data shows that total foreign buying reached Rp12.52 trillion, while total selling reached Rp13.79 trillion. This condition caused the foreign position to shift drastically from a previous net buy of Rp179 billion in the first session.
The massive foreign sell-off occurred amidst extreme pressure still looming over the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG). Sharp corrections hitting the market led foreign investors to choose to release several large-cap stocks, particularly in the banking sector.
The following is a list of stocks most heavily sold by foreign investors during the trading session:
PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) - Rp475.5 billion
PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) - Rp451.6 billion
PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) - Rp257.5 billion
PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) - Rp164.0 billion
PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) - Rp146.7 billion
PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) - Rp122.8 billion
PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) - Rp106.2 billion
PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk (ANTM) - Rp98.9 billion
PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) - Rp72.2 billion
PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI) - Rp49.7 billion
Selling pressure on banking stocks was the primary focus. Four major banks—BBCA, BBRI, BMRI, and BBNI—recorded a combined foreign sell of more than Rp1.19 trillion.
Furthermore, stocks that were targets for foreign accumulation in the first session reversed direction by the close. TPIA, for instance, which was previously a top foreign buy, ended as one of the stocks most heavily sold by foreigners.
