The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara Indonesia is beginning to become a magnet for foreign investors looking to expand their investments in the country. A number of international investors are reportedly seeking to partner with Danantara as a strategic ally in various investment projects. This was conveyed by Danantara Indonesia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rosan P. Roeslani after meeting former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/7/2026). According to Rosan, foreign investor interest in Danantara continues to grow in line with the large asset portfolio and projects managed by the institution. “Danantara is a strategic partner sought by many foreign investors. We have a portfolio and projects that are very attractive to foreign capital,” Rosan said in a statement on Wednesday (8/7/2026). Rosan said that during the meeting, Tony Blair also shared his views on the vast investment opportunities in Indonesia through Danantara. According to Blair, Danantara’s current position holds strong appeal in the eyes of global investors wanting to develop their business in Indonesia. This view, Rosan said, is a positive signal of increasing international investor confidence in Indonesia’s investment climate. He hopes this interest can accelerate the entry of new investment into national strategic sectors. “We will accelerate this process so that the impact is soon felt by the public. This is just the beginning, more investors will follow,” he said. Rosan’s meeting with Blair took place on the sidelines of the former British leader’s visit to Indonesia. During his visit, Blair also met President Prabowo Subianto to discuss various global strategic developments and opportunities to strengthen cooperation in investment, digital transformation, and economic development. Tony Blair remains active through the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which provides policy advisory to various countries, including in the areas of government reform, public service digitalisation, and improving the investment climate. Danantara itself was established by the government as a national investment management agency that consolidates assets from several state-owned enterprises (BUMN). The government aims for Danantara to become an instrument to optimise the value of state assets while attracting long-term investment to support the financing of national priority projects and drive Indonesia’s economic growth.
