Foreign fruit in abundance

Foreign fruit in abundance

From Merdeka

Farmers are facing tough challenges of the increasing appearance of foreign fruit in the market. Meanwhile rare local fruit is gradually disappearing.

Therefore, farmers should work hard to maintain both quality and quantity of local fruit, or Indonesia will become a big importer of foreign fruit.

For example, one can easily buy an orange at a fruit stall. They are even hawked in buses for Rp 500 each. Shall we do nothing about it? I would like to suggest that the government help farmers with soft loans and fertilizer subsidies. With such assistance provided, farmers would love their land and resist any temptation to sell their property to greedy developers.
