Foreign envoys present credentials

JAKARTA: President Megawati Soekarnoputri received on Friday
letters presenting the credentials of the new Vietnamese and
Irish ambassadors to Indonesia.

In a state ceremony at Merdeka Palace, Vietnamese Ambassador
Nguyen Hoang An presented his letter of credential to Megawati at
10 a.m., while Irish Ambassador Hugh Swift, who is stationed in
Singapore, presented his credentials at 10:30 a.m.

The two ambassadors held brief courtesy meetings with the
President afterwards. Megawati was accompanied by Minister of
Foreign Affairs Hassan Wirayuda. -- JP
