Foreign buyers to join trade expo

JAKARTA : The National Agency for Export Development (BPEN) said
that about 5,000 foreign buyers from 90 countries would
participate in the upcoming 2002 PPE export products exhibition
in Jakarta.

"We have also received positive responses from both foreign
and domestic companies who will participate in this expo," BPEN
chairman Diah Maulida told reporters on Tuesday.

As of June, 446 buyers from 25 countries and about 980
companies had confirmed their participation.

The 2002 PPE will be held from Oct. 16 to Oct. 20 at the
Jakarta Fairgrounds in Kemayoran.

Diah said that companies at the expo would display such items
as furniture, handicrafts, textile, footwear, foods and
beverages, leather, metal and rubber products.-- JP
