NEW YORK (Reuter): Ford Motor Co and Mazda Motor Corp may build a new Asian auto plant to expand their production in the region, Bloomberg News reported in the New York Times.
The companies are considering building Mazda-developed cars in the Philippines, the paper said.
A Mazda spokesman said the companies are looking into a variety of joint business opportunities together, including manufacturing ventures, the paper said.
Ford now owns one-third of Mazda. Officials from Ford were not immediately available to comment.
