Ford invests in China

SHANGHAI: Ford is exploring ways to enter the restricted
Chinese passenger-car market.

The company plans to launch a line of light commercial
vehicles in China later this year and signed last month an
agreement to produce midsized sedans in a US$1.7 billion joint
venture with Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation. Ford also
has five component joint ventures in China.
