For the First Time, Lebaran Betawi 2026 to be Held at Lapangan Banteng
The Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov DKI Jakarta) will hold the annual Lebaran Betawi tradition in 2026 at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung revealed that the selection of this location was his direct decision, deemed more representative following the area’s revitalisation.
“This is the first time it will be held at Lapangan Banteng. Why Lapangan Banteng? To be honest, I chose Lapangan Banteng myself,” said Pramono after inspecting the dredging of the Kali Kanal Banjir Barat in Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026).
“Because Lapangan Banteng has now been fully renovated by us, and we have also connected it to the AA Maramis Building,” Pramono added.
Visitor comfort, particularly regarding vehicle parking capacity, was also a factor in choosing the location.
According to him, the parking facilities in the Lapangan Banteng area are now adequate to accommodate the anticipated enthusiasm of Jakarta residents, which is expected to be overwhelming during the Lebaran Betawi celebrations.
“The location is better; hopefully, it will run smoothly tomorrow, and the parking will be sufficient for that,” Pramono stated.
For information, Lebaran Betawi 2026 will be held again and is ready to become a magnet for Jakarta residents and surrounding areas.
Over three days, from 10 to 12 April 2026, Lapangan Banteng in Central Jakarta will be filled with a variety of arts, cuisine, and typical Betawi traditions in one grand event.
The Jakarta Secretary General, Uus Kuswanto, emphasised the important meaning of the celebration.
“Lebaran Betawi is not just a celebration, but a momentum to strengthen unity, togetherness, and preserve Betawi cultural values as Jakarta’s identity,” said Uus.
This year, Lebaran Betawi carries the theme of strengthening unity in nurturing traditions towards Jakarta as a global city.
The Lebaran Betawi 2026 series will take place from Friday to Sunday with various cultural activities.
In addition, visitors can enjoy a local UMKM bazaar, which is expected to boost community economic growth.
The Jakarta Provincial Government targets around 20,000 visitors to liven up Lebaran Betawi 2026 at Lapangan Banteng.
