For Smooth Elections, Gianyar Regency Government and Gianyar KPU Sign MoU
The Gianyar Regency Government (Pemkab) and the Gianyar General Elections Commission (KPU) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen synergy in the preparation and implementation of the elections.
“This signing is a strategic step in bolstering cross-sector coordination to ensure the democratic process runs optimally, transparently, and with high quality,” said Gianyar Regent I Made Mahayastra in his statement on Monday (4/5/2026).
Mahayastra stated that the agreement includes cooperative arrangements stemming from the MoU. The cooperation is technical in nature between KPU Gianyar and several government agencies in Gianyar.
Among them are the Civil Registry and Population Records Office, Health Office, PMD Office, Communication and Informatics Office, Social Affairs Office, Manpower Office, Education Office, Agriculture Office, DP3AP2KB, as well as the Gianyar Regency Customary Village Council. All these Pemkab Gianyar agencies will support KPU Gianyar’s efforts to increase public participation in the elections.
“We want to uphold the honour of democracy. This cooperation is a joint commitment to continuously improve the quality of election administration in Gianyar. High voter participation, along with the absence of dispute claims, serves as a strong indicator of the quality of democratic administration in Gianyar Regency,” said Mahayastra.
Gianyar KPU Chairman I Wayan Mura stated that the synergy with Pemkab Gianyar has actually been good. The signed MoU serves as a formality, followed by cooperation with other regional apparatus.
“Through this MoU and cooperation, we hope that coordination will become even stronger and more structured, thereby improving the quality of future election administration,” said Mura.
Mura expressed his hope that the collaboration between the Gianyar Regency Government and KPU Gianyar will become increasingly solid in safeguarding the integrity, quality, and sustainability of democracy in Gianyar Regency.
