Footpaths along Rasuna Said Street Now Neater and Wider
Footpaths along Rasuna Said Street near the Transjakarta Kuningan Madya stop to the front of the Ombudsman RI building are now predominantly grey, with barrier posts installed to prevent vehicles crossing. Yellow guiding blocks (tactile paving) have been installed to assist people with disabilities, and the walkway can accommodate about six pedestrians walking side by side. However, some drainage outlets remain not fully covered, and a pile of sacks containing fertiliser from tree-planting along the footpath barrier has not yet been removed.
Completion target: 1 June. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung previously said that the facilities on Rasuna Said Street, including the trees, were targeted to be completed by 1 June. ‘We hope that by 1 June all facilities will be finished, including the pedestrian facilities and the planting of trees,’ Pramono told reporters in the PIK area, North Jakarta, on Sunday 17 May.
Meanwhile, the Jakarta DKI Bina Marga Agency continues to accelerate the revitalisation process on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Kuningan, South Jakarta. The project is targeted to be finished before Jakarta’s 499th anniversary on 22 June 2026. ‘In principle we are optimistic that the works will be completed before Jakarta’s anniversary on 22 June. We also urge the public to remain cautious during the construction period,’ said Siti Dinarwenny, Head of the Data and Information Centre at Dinas Bina Marga DKI Jakarta, in a statement on Saturday 2 May.
