Footage Captures the Moment a Train Collides with Vehicles in Bangkok Traffic

A CCTV recording shows the moment the train hit the bus at a crossing near the Makkasan Airport Rail Link station. The video also shows the train dragging several other vehicles along the tracks after the collision. At the time of the crash, fire quickly spread from the part of the bus that was dragged due to the strong impact with the train. The flames grew within seconds and engulfed most of the vehicle, while thick black smoke billowed into the air around the scene. A dashcam recording also circulated on social media, capturing the moment the train collided with the bus in Bangkok. The train, which was carrying containers, could not stop in time to avoid the collision. In another video, plumes of smoke can be seen after the train crash that triggered a deadly fire. Thai Deputy Minister of Transport Siripong Angkasakulkiat said initial reports indicated that the bus stopped right on the tracks when the traffic lights turned red, so the crossing barriers did not have time to close. The container train was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision. “Eight people were killed and 32 injured. All of the victims were inside the bus,” Siripong told reporters. The injured have been taken to several hospitals for treatment. Firefighters and rescue teams were deployed to the scene to put out the fire that burned the public bus and other vehicles, including cars and motorcycles.
