Food Security Becomes Key Agenda at Senkom Mitra Polri Leadership Meeting

The Sentra Komunikasi (Senkom) Mitra Polri has affirmed its commitment to supporting the national food security programme through the development of maize cultivation in various regions as part of efforts to strengthen national resilience.

Chairman of Senkom Mitra Polri, Katno Hadi, stated that food security is currently a crucial factor in maintaining national stability. He explained that national resilience does not solely rely on security and public order, but also on the nation’s ability to guarantee sufficient and sustainable food availability.

He noted that food security is an integral part of national resilience. Sufficient, affordable, and sustainable food availability will create social stability, reduce the potential for conflict, and strengthen the community’s capacity to face various global challenges.

He explained that since its establishment, Senkom Mitra Polri has had three main clusters of service: public security and order (kamtibmas), national defence, and disaster management. However, in line with evolving national challenges, the organisation sees the need to take on a broader role in supporting the food security programme as part of strengthening national resilience.

Katno conveyed this during his address at the 2026 Senkom Mitra Polri National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) held at the Grand Ballroom Minhajurrosyidin, East Jakarta, on Thursday (18/6/2026).

According to Katno, the maize production increase programme initiated by the Indonesian National Police is a strategic step that not only impacts the agricultural sector but also contributes to social and economic stability within the community. He added that as a community organisation with a network reaching down to the village and sub-district levels across Indonesia, Senkom Mitra Polri has prepared a number of concrete measures to support this initiative.
