The National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) recorded that the price of bird’s eye chilli (cabai rawit merah) experienced an increase, now priced at IDR 64,250 per kilogram (kg). Meanwhile, the price of chicken eggs remained stagnant at IDR 29,400 per kg.

Based on data from PIHPS released in Jakarta on Wednesday morning, other nationally recorded retail food prices include shallots at IDR 49,150 per kg and garlic at IDR 44,400 per kg.

Furthermore, rice prices were noted with lower quality I at IDR 14,700 per kg and lower quality II at IDR 14,500 per kg. Medium quality I rice was priced at IDR 16,300 per kg, while medium quality II rice stood at IDR 16,100 per kg.

The centre also recorded the price of large red chillies at IDR 52,200 per kg, curly red chillies at IDR 52,000 per kg, and green bird’s eye chillies at IDR 50,050 per kg. Fresh chicken meat was priced at IDR 37,050 per kg, while beef quality I was recorded at IDR 149,900 per kg and beef quality II at IDR 140,800 per kg.

Regarding other staples, premium granulated sugar was priced at IDR 20,300 per kg and local sugar at IDR 19,050 per kg. Bulk cooking oil was recorded at IDR 20,650 per litre, branded cooking oil I at IDR 24,300 per litre, and branded cooking oil II at IDR 23,500 per litre.
