Food Prices Today 20 June 2026: Bird's Eye Chilli at Rp76,300 per kg, Chicken at Rp29,950 per kg
The price of red bird’s eye chilli and purebred chicken eggs is showing a strengthening trend that consumers need to be wary of. Citing data from the National Strategic Food Price Information Centre (PIHPS) managed by Bank Indonesia as of Saturday (20/6) at 09.30 WIB, the price of red bird’s eye chilli has now touched Rp76,300 per kilogram (kg). Meanwhile, the commodity of purebred chicken eggs is priced at Rp29,950 per kg. This increase places red bird’s eye chilli as one of the commodities with the highest price surge in the current retail market.
Besides red bird’s eye chilli, other kitchen spice groups are also observed to be at high levels. Shallots are recorded as selling for Rp53,650 per kg, followed by garlic reaching Rp41,100 per kg. For other chilli variants, large red chilli is at Rp57,700 per kg, curly red chilli at Rp55,500 per kg, and green bird’s eye chilli at Rp54,950 per kg.
In the animal protein sector, grade I beef still holds at Rp149,300 per kg, while grade II is sold at Rp140,500 per kg. For fresh purebred chicken meat, retail traders are setting an average price of Rp37,100 per kg.
The rice commodity as a primary staple also shows price variations based on quality. Super grade I rice is currently marketed at Rp17,550 per kg, while medium grade I is at Rp16,300 per kg.
For cooking oil commodities, branded packaging grade I reaches Rp24,200 per litre, whereas bulk cooking oil is available at Rp20,600 per litre. Local granulated sugar is observed to be stable at Rp19,100 per kg, while premium quality penetrates Rp20,300 per kg.
