'Food poisoning' claims nine victims

SURABAYA: Alleged food poisoning again claimed victims at a school in Surabaya on Tuesday, following a similar incident a few weeks ago in the Barata Jaya elementary school in the same city.

In the latest incident on Tuesday, nine elementary school students in Sawahan III elementary school in Sawahan district here complained of vomiting after they drank milk provided by the school and produced by a local company.

They recovered on the same day after first aid treatment at school, said Ririn Mariani, a staffer at Surabaya health office.

The office is still looking into the incident. -- JP
