Food donations given to bus crew

JAKARTA (JP): The City Land Transportation Agency (DLLAJ) handed over 1,000 parcels of basic commodities yesterday to bus crews and residents living near Kampung Rambutan bus terminal, in East Jakarta.

Each parcel contained 2.5 kilograms of rice, 1 kilo of sugar and instant noodles. The parcels were given out in cooperation with privately run bus company PT Mayasari Bakti.

Head of the agency J.P. Sepang said the donation was aimed at helping some of the many people reeling from the skyrocketing prices of commodities.

Sepang said the donation was the third staged by the DLLAJ.

"The first two donations were held in Jati Baru, Central Jakarta, in cooperation with private bus companies Steady Safe and Arimbi." (edt)
