Jakarta — The Ministry of Industry has recorded an increase in food and beverage industry capacity utilisation ahead of Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.

The Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Industry, Muhammad Nur, stated that the capacity utilisation rate for the food and beverage industry stands at between 70 and 80 per cent. This figure represents an increase from the previous average utilisation rate of approximately 60 per cent.

“Currently, the capacity utilisation rate for the food and beverage industry is between 70 and 80 per cent, up from an average utilisation rate of 60 per cent,” Nur said during the opening of an Eid Bazaar event at the Ministry of Industry office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

Nur indicated that the government is preparing several measures to maintain the supply of raw materials for the industry. The Ministry of Industry, working with other government departments, is maximising the use of commodity balance instruments to ensure the availability of industrial raw materials.

“We continue to prioritise the smooth and safe flow of traffic during the Eid period,” Nur stated.

Throughout 2025, the sector contributed 52.09 per cent to non-oil industrial gross domestic product. Its contribution to national gross domestic product reached approximately 9 per cent. The agro-food industry also recorded growth of 4.95 per cent throughout 2025.

The sector’s export value reached 78.77 billion US dollars, equivalent to approximately Rp 1.34 trillion, based on an exchange rate of Rp 17,000 per US dollar. Import value was recorded at 21.19 billion US dollars, or approximately Rp 360 trillion.

“Accordingly, the sector continues to maintain a positive trade balance of 57.58 billion US dollars,” Nur said.
