Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that the government is continuing its food aid stimulus programme for the second semester of 2026, with a total budget of Rp 18.04 trillion.

He explained that the primary programme being extended is rice food aid for three months, from July to September 2026, with a budget of Rp 17.54 trillion to reach 33.24 million recipients.

“This programme is continued for three months, namely July, August, and September, for 33.24 million recipients with a budget requirement of Rp 17.54 trillion,” Airlangga said during a press conference at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta on Monday, 22 June 2026.

In addition, the government is also preparing a programme to stabilise food supply and prices through a soybean subsidy for tofu and tempeh artisans. The government is providing a subsidy of Rp 2,000 per kilogram, with a quota of 250,000 tonnes of soybeans.

“We know that our soybean requirement is 2.5 million tonnes per year, but we are preparing 250,000 tonnes with a subsidy of Rp 2,000 per kg, which will be provided if the soybean price exceeds the reference purchase price,” he stated.

Airlangga said the rice aid and food stabilisation programmes have been discussed with the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs and relevant technical ministries, and have received direction from the President.

“Regarding the rice aid and food stabilisation assistance, this has been discussed in a meeting with the Coordinating Minister for Food, who has sent a letter to us at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and we have discussed this across ministries and also received direction from the President,” Airlangga said.

Overall, the government has prepared an economic stimulus package for the second semester of 2026 worth Rp 26.34 trillion.
