Following the Theft of Branded Bags at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Injourney Tightens Security
PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, or InJourney Airports, has increased security surveillance at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, following the incident of the theft of branded bags from the Canadian brand, Lululemon.
“We would like to inform you that InJourney Airports and the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police have strengthened security aspects and have successfully uncovered the alleged theft by an employee of a cargo operator,” said General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Heru Karyadi, on Saturday (16/5).
Heru emphasized that his company will not tolerate any form of legal violation within the airport environment. He asked all entities and workers operating at Soekarno-Hatta Airport to comply with applicable regulations. InJourney Airports claims to have an early detection system that can track suspicious activity in restricted areas.
“We have a system in place to maintain security, so any activity that violates security will definitely be detected. We urge all parties to continue to comply with the rules,” he said.
The Chief of Police of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Kombes Wisnu Wardana, explained that the disclosure of the theft case at Soekarno-Hatta began with a police report dated April 27, 2026. The Investigation Team then conducted further investigation and successfully arrested three suspects on April 29, 2026, in the Karawaci area, Tangerang City.

PT. Pungkook Indonesia One sent 4,749 Lululemon branded bags from Grobogan to Shanghai, China, via Garuda Indonesia cargo on April 14, 2026. However, a notification from Shanghai stated that 108 bags were missing.
The company is said to have suffered losses of up to IDR 213 million. The results of the examination through CCTV in the RA BST area and the Soewarna Warehouse showed that the police found 40 cartons out of a total of 512 cartons that had been deliberately set aside during the X-ray inspection process.
