A total of 37,338 residents of Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), have received food aid for the July, August, and September 2026 allocation. Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, together with President Director of Perum Bulog Letnan Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, travelled directly to Alor on Saturday (8/8/2026) to ensure the aid was received by the community.

For the three-month allocation, each recipient family received a total of 30 kilograms of rice. The distribution also reached communities down to the village level, including 66 food aid recipients (PBP) in Fuisama Village, 513 PBP in Probur Village, and 222 PBP in Lembur Barat Village. “The government is present to ensure that the public receives sufficient food and the assistance to which they are entitled,” said Amran in Alor last Saturday.

The figure, who is also Chairman of the National Food Agency, stressed that the government wants to ensure food aid reaches communities across all regions of Indonesia. According to him, geographical conditions must not cause people to struggle to obtain food or feel distant from government attention.

“No community should feel distant from government attention simply because they are in an archipelagic or remote area,” said Amran.

Bulog President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani said the distribution of food aid in Alor is part of efforts to ensure that people in all regions of Indonesia have equal access to food. He acknowledged that Indonesia’s geographical conditions as an archipelagic nation pose particular challenges in food distribution.

“Today we came directly to Alor to ensure that government food aid truly reaches the public. This is not just about distributing rice, but ensuring that the state’s presence is felt directly by the community,” said Rizal.

He stressed that Bulog will continue to ensure food can reach communities even in areas with geographical challenges. According to him, synergy between the central government, regional governments, Bulog, and stakeholders is needed for distribution to run effectively.

“For Bulog, no region is too far to serve,” Rizal asserted.

The food aid distribution strengthens the government’s intervention in rice supply and price issues in Alor. Previously, the National Food Agency recorded that the realisation of rice distribution under the Food Supply and Price Stabilisation programme (SPHP) in Alor Regency during March-July 2026 reached 764,070 kilograms.

The SPHP distribution was carried out through Rumah Pangan Kita (RPK) outlets totalling 356,470 kilograms, traditional market retailers 352,150 kilograms, and the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) 55,450 kilograms. In addition to SPHP, the government has distributed 746,000 kilograms of Government Rice Reserves (CBP) to the people of Alor as of 31 July 2026.

Thus, the government’s rice intervention in Alor has reached approximately 1.5 million kilograms when the SPHP realisation and food aid are combined. The government considers these various instruments necessary to maintain supply while ensuring rice price affordability in archipelagic regions.
