The former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, Pratikno, remains reticent about his future within the government after no longer serving as a minister.

“Well, we shall wait until tomorrow,” Pratikno said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday (1/10).

Pratikno was also brief when questioned regarding rumours that he might be appointed to the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres).

“Well, there will be subsequent news. There will be subsequent news,” he remarked.

Pratikting also stated that he has coordinated with his successor, Sugiono, regarding several agendas that require attention moving forward. This includes, among other things, post-disaster reconstruction in various regions.

“Furthermore, regarding education, the President has issued orders concerning free education. There are also many innovations in the field of education, such as the Garuda excellence schools and integrated national schools,” he said.

Additionally, Pratikno expressed his gratitude to Prabowo for the trust placed in him to serve as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture for approximately two years. He noted that it was an honour, as he felt sufficiently capable of fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.

“Which is indeed my field, human development. We convey our thanks to the President for the trust and the mandate given,” he said.

Through the reshuffle on Thursday (1/10), Pratikno was replaced by Sugiono as the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture. Meanwhile, the position of Foreign Minister, left vacant by Sugiono, has now been filled by Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir.
