Following Protests from Participants, MPR to Evaluate Scoring and Verification System for Four Pillars Quiz Competition
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The General Secretariat (Setjen) of the MPR RI will evaluate the scoring system and verification of answers in the implementation of the Four Pillars MPR RI Quiz Competition (LCC) 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level, following protests from participants that have sparked widespread discussion on social media.
MPR RI Secretary General Siti Fauziah stated that the evaluation is intended to maintain sportsmanship, objectivity, and transparency in the implementation of this national education competition.
“MPR RI will conduct a thorough evaluation of all technical aspects of the competition, including the scoring mechanism, clarity of answer articulation, participant answer verification system, and the handling of objections in the competition, so that similar activities in the future can run even better, transparently, and accountably,” said Siti Fauziah in her official statement on Monday (11/5/2026).
“The organising committee from the MPR RI General Secretariat is currently conducting an internal investigation,” Siti explained.
According to Siti, MPR RI understands that youth education and development activities must uphold values of sportsmanship and a constructive learning spirit.
In addition, the Four Pillars LCC is organised as a means of learning national values and strengthening understanding of the Four Pillars of MPR RI, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.
“Therefore, public input will serve as important evaluation material to maintain the quality of the activities and public trust in the inclusive, educational, and integrity-based national learning process,” Siti stated.
“Thus, the MPR RI General Secretariat urges all parties to maintain a conducive atmosphere and respect all student participants,” she concluded.
For context, the Final of the Four Pillars MPR RI LCC 2026 at the West Kalimantan provincial level was held in Pontianak on Saturday (9/5/2026). The event was participated in by nine senior high schools in West Kalimantan.
The three schools that advanced to the final round were SMAN 1 Pontianak, SMAN 1 Sambas, and SMAN 1 Sanggau.
The controversy arose during the answer buzzer session with the question: “In selecting BPK members, the DPR must consider input from which institution?”
Team C from SMAN 1 Pontianak was the first participant to answer.
“Members of the Financial Audit Board are selected by the House of Representatives, taking into account the considerations of the Regional Representative Council and formalised by the President,” said a female student from Team C.
