Following Protests, Developer Promises to Repair and Patch Bungsan Road in Depok
DEPOK, KOMPAS.com – Following protests from residents regarding the severely damaged condition of Bungsan Road in Bedahan, Depok, PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat has finally prepared a plan for repairs.
The developer stated that it will resurface the section of the road under its jurisdiction and patch up the main road, which is owned by the government.
Project Leader of PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat, Susi Yanti Guci, said that the company has prepared a timeline for the road repairs.
Susi explained that the resurfacing will be carried out on the section of Bungsan Road that is owned by PT Mitra Bangun Sepakat. This section is marked by the gate leading to the RT 03 RW 03 neighbourhood in Bedahan Village.
Meanwhile, the main section of Bungsan Road, which is damaged, cannot be resurfaced because it is a government asset.
“We cannot resurface the main Bungsan Road because it is owned by the government, so we cannot simply resurface it,” said Susi.
“I said that we will patch up the bad sections of Bungsan Road that have been affected,” she added.
She emphasised that the resurfacing of the access road to the housing complex will be carried out because it is a route for the distribution of construction materials.
“The Bungsan Road leading into the housing complex from the gate will definitely be repaired, because it is an access route for our housing units, which are currently under construction,” explained Susi.
However, a complete repair cannot be carried out while project activities and heavy vehicle traffic are still ongoing.
In the latest protest, about 50 residents from nine neighbourhood units blocked six project trucks from 11:00 to 17:00.
“In the previous protest, about six trucks were held, so that the developer could meet with the community,” said Tiar, head of RT 03 RW 3, when met at the location on Monday (23/2/2026).
The trucks and drivers were finally released just before the breaking of the fast during Ramadan, after being held for approximately six hours.
