Following President's Directive, South Lampung Regent to Provide Free UMKM Food for Thousands of Residents During Open House
Jakarta (ANTARA) – Responding to President Prabowo Subianto’s instructions for state officials to avoid excessive and lavish Open House events, South Lampung Regent Radityo Egi Pratama has assured that the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H community gathering in his region will proceed with a concept of simplicity integrated with the people. This Halal Bihalal event is scheduled for Saturday, 21 March 2026 (the day after Eid), starting at 12:00 WIB at the Regent’s Official Residence (Lamban Rakyat). The concept is presented as a tangible demonstration of compliance with the President’s stance on simplicity, by removing protocol barriers between leaders and residents. Instead of using services from luxury hotel catering, Regent Radityo Egi Pratama has instructed his team to procure from dozens of street vendor UMKM traders in South Lampung to provide free dishes for the community. Thousands of portions of main meals, including traditional cuisine, have been prepared to host residents from 17 districts. “The President’s instructions are very clear: officials must set an example of simplicity. Therefore, for this year’s Eid, we want Lamban Rakyat to truly become a home for everyone. There is no luxury, only the warmth of community ties and empowerment of the small people’s economy,” stated a representative from the South Lampung Regency Government Communication Team. In addition to the people’s culinary feast, the agenda also highlights a humanitarian aspect by inviting special guests from nursing homes, orphans, and underprivileged communities who lack families to celebrate Eid. Regent Egi is committed to ensuring that no resident of South Lampung feels lonely on the day of victory.
