Following Presidential Order, Danantara Reviews LRT Development
The Head of the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Agency and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony Oskaria, explained that the Danantara Investment Management Agency is still reviewing the development of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) mass transport mode, which is a follow-up to the order from President Prabowo Subianto.
“The LRT is certainly being reviewed, as this is part of the mass transport mode integration we are preparing. Not only the LRT, but also the railways—we are also undergoing the electrification process for the Jakarta–Cikampek, Jakarta–Sukabumi, and Jakarta–Merak lines,” said Dony Oskaria, responding to journalists’ questions during a press conference at the Indonesian Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
He stated that the LRT mode will eventually be fully integrated, including the integration of the LRT with the MRT and the TransJakarta busway, creating a unified system.
Dony continued that Danantara will also discuss these development and integration plans with the Governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung.
During a speech at the inauguration of the new LRT Jakarta route from Manggarai to Kelapa Gading last week, President Prabowo stated that Danantara is obliged to assist the Jakarta Provincial Government in continuing the construction of the LRT (Lintas Raya Terpadum).
“I believe Danantara is obliged to help. Because Jakarta does not belong only to those living in Jakarta; Jakarta belongs to the entire nation,” said President Prabowo.
The order was issued by President Prabowo to Danantara after Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung requested Danantara’s support to continue the construction of the LRT network until it connects to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
At the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, President Prabowo held a limited meeting with the Head of the SOE Regulatory Agency Dony Oskaria, the Minister of Investment and Downstreaming as well as CEO of Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, and the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
Also in attendance were the Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency Arif Satria, the Director General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance Djaka Budhi Utama, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, the State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and the Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
During the meeting, the President discussed several strategic issues, particularly regarding the enhancement of the textile industry and the development of domestic textile and footwear products.
