Following Prabowo's Instructions, Police Strengthen Synergy with Media Through Padel
Jakarta, VIVA – The Indonesian National Police (Polri), together with the Trunojoyo Journalists, held the Padel Bhayangkara Cup 2026 sports tournament at Padel Corner Kemang 27, South Jakarta. The event was organised to commemorate the 80th Bhayangkara Day.
The tournament was participated in by Polri personnel and journalists who cover activities at Polri headquarters on a daily basis, representing various television, print and online media outlets.
The event is one of the efforts to strengthen relations and build better communication between Polri and members of the press as strategic partners in conveying information to the public.
The Head of the Information and Documentation Management Bureau (Karo PID) of the Polri Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Saptono Erlangga, who attended on behalf of the Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, opened the event and expressed his appreciation to the Trunojoyo Journalists for the synergy and positive communication built with Polri thus far.
“A good relationship between Polri and the media is extremely important in supporting transparent, professional and humane public communication,” said Erlangga.
According to him, sport is not merely a competition, but also a means to strengthen togetherness, uphold sportsmanship, and build positive interaction between Polri members and media colleagues.
“Activities like this show that the relationship between Polri and the media is forged not only in the execution of duties, but also through various positive activities that can strengthen the sense of camaraderie,” he said.
Erlangga also reminded all participants to uphold sportsmanship throughout the matches.
“By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I hereby officially declare the Padel Bhayangkara Cup, held in commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day, open. Good luck, uphold sportsmanship, and may this event run smoothly,” he said.
In its execution, the Padel Bhayangkara Cup 2026 featured three categories: male journalists, female journalists, and Polri personnel. In addition to the main matches, the organising committee also presented an exhibition match pitting representatives of Polri officials against representatives of journalists.
Through this event, it is hoped that the partnership between Polri and the media will grow stronger in supporting informative, open public communication that builds public trust.
This is in line with the directive of President Prabowo Subianto that Polri cannot work alone in safeguarding national security and public order. Therefore, synergy with all elements of the nation must continue to be strengthened.
