Following Japan-South Korea Visit, Prabowo Plans Working Trip to Russia

“Yes, there is such a plan, but for certainty, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will convey it later. There are several countries that certainly already have cooperation,” said Teddy at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026).

Teddy stated that the agenda for the visit to Russia is likely not much different from that to Japan, namely regarding domestic energy stock needs. However, Teddy has not disclosed the departure date for Prabowo to Russia.

“For example, yesterday the President just returned from Japan and perhaps the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has also conveyed it, there is an agreement related to oil with Japan,” Teddy said.

“For the next one, the confirmation will be tomorrow, for sure the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will convey to which confirmed country the President will visit,” he added.

Prabowo and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi previously held a bilateral meeting as part of his official visit to Japan. Prabowo revealed that the meeting discussed cooperation between the two countries in various fields.

“We discussed many issues in the economic field, bilateral cooperation in the energy field, in the maritime and fisheries field, in the security field, and this all shows a positive, good trajectory,” Prabowo said after the bilateral meeting session at the Akasaka Palace in Tokyo on Tuesday (31/3).
