Following Global SWF Investment Trends, Danantara Injects US$1 Billion into Swiss Partners Group!
The Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara) has issued a private credit investment mandate worth US1billion, orapproximatelyRp17.69trillion(assuminganexchangerateofRp17, 693/US), to the Swiss asset management firm, Partners Group.
Citing Bloomberg reports, Danantara has allocated US$600 million for direct lending opportunities. Meanwhile, another US$400 million has been placed as a discretionary tranche to be managed by Partners Group and utilised as co-investment capital.
Danantara confirmed its investment in Partners Group’s private credit business but did not disclose the specific value. Danantara’s Chief Investment Officer, Pandu Sjahrir, stated that the investment will be directed towards direct lending opportunities in Asia, particularly in Indonesia.
“The investment in Partners Group will be aimed at direct lending opportunities throughout Asia, specifically Indonesia,” said Pandu, as reported by Bloomberg on Sunday (30/08/2026).
Pandu noted that the investment is expected to not only generate strong returns but also facilitate knowledge transfer that will ultimately benefit the Indonesian people.
“We anticipate that this investment will yield good returns and enable knowledge transfer, which will ultimately benefit the Indonesian people,” he added.
According to him, this move is part of Danantara’s mandate to invest both domestically and abroad. Pandu added that the capital deployed will ultimately be returned to Indonesia.
A representative from Partners Group declined to comment on the transaction.
The investment in Partners Group serves as the strongest signal to date that Danantara—which is approximately 18 months old and one of President Prabowo Subianto’s flagship projects—is becoming increasingly aggressive in expanding its investments within the global private markets.
This move comes as Danantara begins to penetrate deeper into the global private credit industry, which is valued at approximately US$1.8 trillion.
