Following Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, Home Affairs Minister Urges Kemendagri and BNPP Civil Servants to Boost Performance
Home Affairs Minister (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian has urged civil servants (ASN) in the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) and the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) to improve their performance following the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah (H) holiday.
Tito conveyed this during his address at the halal bihalal event in Plaza Gedung A, Kemendagri Central Office, Jakarta, on Monday (30/3/2026).
“On behalf of myself, my family, and as the leader of Kemendagri and BNPP, I once again extend Eid al-Fitr greetings. Minal aidin wal faizin, please forgive me physically and spiritually, and I hope we will work even better,” he stated in a press release received by Kompas.com on Monday.
Tito stressed the importance of enhancing performance after a lengthy holiday period. He also appreciated the employees who continued providing public services during the holiday, including regional heads who remained on standby during the festive season.
“I thank my colleagues who worked during the long holiday. For those who took the long break, consider it as recharging your batteries, feeling healthier and fresher to face the long tasks ahead,” he said.
On that occasion, Tito also reminded Kemendagri and BNPP ASN to continue working hard in assisting regional governments (pemda) and ministries/institutions (K/L), particularly in implementing the President’s priority programmes.
The programmes in question include inflation control, economic growth, waste management, Free Nutritious Meals (MBG), Red and White Village/Urban Ward Cooperatives, People’s Schools, Three Million Houses, and post-disaster recovery in Sumatra.
Looking ahead, he continued, there are still many things that need to be anticipated, especially regarding global dynamics that could affect fuel oil (BBM) supplies.
This situation is also related to the discourse on implementing work from anywhere (WFA), which will be officially announced by the government. Moreover, during the Covid-19 pandemic, there was experience with working from home (WFH) that can serve as a reference.
“You just need to think. Don’t think about what this organisation, Kemendagri-BNPP, will give to you. (Instead), you should think about what you can give to this organisation, where we all earn a living and gain status,” Tito emphasised.
The event was also attended by Deputy Home Affairs Minister (Wamendagri) Ribka Haluk, Wamendagri Bima Arya Sugiarto, Wamendagri Akhmad Wiyagus, Secretary General (Sekjen) Tomsi Tohir, as well as high-ranking madya and pratama officials in Kemendagri and BNPP.
